JAKARTA, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) — Indonesia’s Ministry of Population and Family Development announced Monday that the government’s free nutritious meal program has reached 1.2 million pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers, out of a total target of 9.3 million by the end of 2025.
“We have reached 1.2 million out of the 9.3 million target,” said Minister of Population and Family Development Wihaji.
Launched in January this year, the free nutritious meal program is part of the government’s broader effort to improve public nutrition and reduce stunting nationwide. It is aimed at toddlers, schoolchildren, pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as the elderly. ■
