Holiday Weekend Recap!

Is it too late to post this recap!? I have so many photos to share!

Mom + Dad came up to join us for a quick two-day visit.

Mom always brings Gussie a toy, and this time he went IN HER BAG and got it out! That boy is smart.

Thanksgiving Eve

We had a big spaghetti + salad dinner – dad’s fav!

And then we all watched Survivor together! We were only missing having Ellen join us <3  (What an episode!)

Thanksgiving Morning

We played with the boys, did Peloton workouts, and drank green smoothies. We had gloriously warm weather!!

Salads for lunch

To Grandmother’s House We Go

Just after lunch, we headed out to North Garden where Thomas’s parents live!

T’s cousin, Mike, joined us from DC along with Uncle Clay and cousin Nash. We had such great warm weather!

Pre-Game Cheese + Crackers

Pre-game drinks!

Pies x 2 plus whipped cream and a delicious éclair ice box cake!

Turkey Time!

2x pie topped with whipped fluff? YES!

Full & Happy

Black Friday

It was a low-key day as we said goodbye to mom and dad.

Thomas made pancakes.

Turkey Salad

Thanksgiving dinner 2.0

Thomas and Mazen went to the UVA basketball game, and Birch and I snuggled while watching it on TV.

Saturday Gym Sesh

On Saturday I went to the GYM!!!! Say what?!?!? With boosters and Mazen getting his second dose of the vaccine, we’re adding one self-care item back to the plate. Still trying to be as safe as possible, masking and sanitizing, etc. But gosh it felt good to be back in there!

I went to the 8:30 am plyo “dance party” class that I used to love. The return was harder doing it for the first time in 18 months than it was going back after maternity leave! My quads, back, and calves were completely ripped apart the next day!!!! I only missed a few beats though, so I think muscle memory will serve me well. I hope….

UVA Tailgate

Saturday afternoon we had the treat of Nona babysitting while Thomas and I went to the UVA football game. We had a few beers beforehand at his friends’ tailgate.

It was warm out until it was not. Luckily we brought all of our cold weather gear!

Tough loss for the Cavaliers : (

Dairy Market!

I’ve been meaning to go to our new food hall for ages, but of course delta slowed me down. T and I stopped in for a quick dinner before heading home. I was so impressed!!! Can’t wait to explore more of the eateries. I had a No Bull Burger from GRN Burger – all plant based.

Milkman’s Bar – super cool!

And then we had ice cream cones!!

Sunday Hike Adventure

We had beautiful sunny skies on Sunday morning, so we took the boys to Ragged Mountain to run around.

They were not thrilled but cheered up when we started moving.

And then we had a blast playing hide and seek in these trees!

Hope you all had a lot of quality family time.

(Although I was pretty happy about sending them back to school this week – heh heh!)
