Life lately: pumpkin beer + Survivor!

Happy Survivor and Pumpkin Beer Season! And happy October!

Are any of you watching season 49 of Survivor? Obviously it’s a must! Best show ever. Hillary, Ellen, and I met up for the premiere and enjoyed some Pumkings while we watched.

Wedding Season

Happy Anniversary Thomas <3

Our friends Seth and Missi got married at Tiffin Farm in Free Union a few weeks ago. It was a gorgeous day to get married under the September sky!

Their cats, Desi, Penny, and Honey, were also in attendance 🙂

Sean and I were the two ACAC peeps in attendance, and we represented the dance floor accordingly!

Congrats to the lovebirds!

We went home with Missi’s popcorn recipe!

Meanwhile on the home front, Mazen’s Halloween costume is coming along nicely.

And I realized all of Birch’s favorite foods are orange! A “snack plate.”

The boys had a great time visiting Top Golf in Richmond with Thomas. We had given Mazen a gift certificate for Christmas and finally got around to making the trip down!

Mexican Brunch

I went to a Mexican brunch just after Mexican Independence Day with our group of gym friends (and more). We had margaritas, lots of food, and a piñatas filled with traditional candy!

Our hosts made chilaquiles which were SO good! I loved the home-fried tortillas and rich mole on top. We also had refried beans, homemade guacamole, two kinds of meat and more!

Kath Eats Real Food

Farmacy Cafe

The Mexican theme continued the next week with a visit to Farmacy Cafe, known for its food truck and Mexican fusion food. I LOVE their mushroom quesadilla!

Spinach and Sun-dried Tomato Meatballs

I made a version of these meatballs for dinner one night. Silly me assumed that Mazen would eat them. It wasn’t the spinach he complained about but the sun-dried tomatoes! Next time I will make a more basic version.

Taco Night

Chicken Sausage Soup

I made a version of this soup that fed us for days!

Cook Once Salmon

And lastly, we had some sockeye salmon that I had for both dinner and lunch salads.

And finally – bedtime! I’m loving this book that’s going to be a Netflix film!
